Tribute: The World's Most Expensive Commercial Mead
Some meads are made to be enjoyed.
Some are made to be shared.
A rare few become legends.
Tribute was never intended to be an ordinary release.
Crafted from honey harvested from a hive hidden within the hollow heart of a fallen cemetery oak near Ben Wheeler, Texas, Tribute spent years aging in oak before being placed into individually crafted hand-blown glass vessels. The result is what we believe to be the world's most expensive commercial mead and one of the rarest meads ever offered to the public.
Only twenty-six bottles were ever produced.
There will never be another vintage.
There will never be another batch.
And once the remaining bottles are gone, Tribute will exist only in private collections and memory.

The Story Begins in a Cemetery Oak
Years ago, a massive oak tree fell within a family cemetery.
Inside its hollow trunk lived a remarkable colony of honeybees. Deep within the tree, more than fifteen feet of honeycomb had been built over many seasons. Hidden from sight, protected by the oak itself, the hive produced honey unlike anything we had encountered before.
When the honey was harvested, we knew it deserved something extraordinary.
That honey became Tribute.
Not because it was intended to be expensive.
But because it could never be recreated.
The tree is gone.
The hive is gone.
What remains is the mead.
Years in Oak. A Lifetime in Glass.
Tribute spent years maturing in oak, slowly developing layers of character, depth, and complexity.
When the aging process was complete, we faced another question:
What vessel could possibly be worthy of a mead that can never be reproduced?
The answer was hand-blown glass.
Each bottle was individually crafted by hand, from glass maker Devin Peeps, making every vessel unique. No two are exactly alike. Slight variations in shape, texture, and character are part of their beauty and authenticity.
Just as every bottle contains irreplaceable mead, every vessel is itself a one-of-a-kind work of craftsmanship.
Tribute is not merely bottled.
It is preserved.
Only Twenty-Six Bottles Exist
The rarity of Tribute cannot be increased.
It cannot be manufactured.
It cannot be scaled.
Only twenty-six bottles were ever produced.
Twenty-five bottles were designated as collector bottles.
The twenty-sixth bottle was reserved for the tasting room.
Rather than allowing every drop to disappear into private ownership, we chose to preserve one bottle so future guests could experience the mead and hear its story firsthand.
As a result, only twenty-five collector bottles can ever be owned.
The remaining bottle exists solely to share the legacy.
The Tribute Bottle Registry
Every collector bottle is individually numbered and permanently recorded within the Tribute Bottle Registry.
As each bottle is acquired, the price of the next bottle doubles.
This creates a permanent historical record of ownership while ensuring that each remaining bottle becomes increasingly rare and increasingly valuable.
Every acquisition reduces the number of available bottles forever.
There is no warehouse inventory.
There is no future release.
There is no second production run waiting to be announced.
There are only the remaining bottles.
Once acquired, they are gone.
Why Is Tribute the World's Most Expensive Commercial Mead?
Because rarity matters.
Because provenance matters.
Because craftsmanship matters.
Tribute combines all three.
It began with honey from a hive hidden within a fallen cemetery oak.
It matured for years in oak.
It was sealed into individually crafted hand-blown glass vessels.
It was released in a quantity of only twenty-six bottles.
And it can never be recreated.
Many luxury products are expensive because they are marketed as exclusive.
Tribute is exclusive because nature only gave us enough to create it once.
Experience Tribute
While only twenty-five collector bottles exist, guests can still experience Tribute through the Vinland Meads tasting room.
Bottle Twenty-Six was intentionally reserved for this purpose.
Visitors may reserve a Tribute Pour Experience and enjoy a one-ounce tasting while learning the story of the cemetery hive, the fallen oak, the years of aging, and the creation of one of the rarest meads ever produced.
Most visitors arrive curious about the world's most expensive commercial mead.
They leave understanding that the true value of Tribute is not found in its price.
It is found in its story.
A fallen tree.
A hidden hive.
Years of patience.
Twenty-six bottles.
And a legacy that can never be repeated.
